Four Trees.
At lunch today I was walking across Pine Street and I passed Jean Dubuffet's Group of Four Trees. I was struck by the contrast of the sculpture's black and white with the lush green of the trees near it on the plaza. I had to go back to work and grab my camera. No doubt, lunchtime is my favorite period.

I love that Dubuffet!! and you're right, the trees look just like it! Lovely photos, Brent.
Love the third and fourth pix, bb. My kind of photo. Let's have lunch soon?
When I get the whole picture.
what is going on in the sky in the first photo?

Ha! Good catch, Alison. I actually didn't notice that myself until I posted it. It looks like skywriting, no?
Go inside the Chase HQ there and view the great series on the architecture of the building and (if I remember correctly) installation of the sculpture. I was so bummed when they took it down for a while. It always looked so crazy and fragile, like it was made of papier-mache. Then you get up close and it's amazing.
DB! Yes.
Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes! I walk through that hallway every once in awhile when I come out of the subway. Greatness unfolding. What's not to like?
