Sorry. Call me Miss Unpopularity, but that park is a huge waste of dollars. For one, we need better transportation, not weeds (looks crappy as hell). The perfectly good tracks should have been made into light rail transit so Chelsea could actually have public transportation. Freakin' ridiculous. An entire segment of the city has absolutely NOTHING to rely on but worthless bus routes and huge walks from the nearest train stations.
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And we shouldn't have art and music in the schools. Couldn't disagree more about the controlled anarchy of the plants (I actually saw a High Line employee weeding so I won't call them weeds.). One of my favorite comments on one of the websites was from somebody who had lived near the HL for years and was hoping that they KEPT the overgrowth. I think it's a masterful integration of the present and the previous. In other words, I'm down with Nicolai Ouroussoff.
